CSR is a national organization that manages
members’ product and packaging stewardship interests and
requirements throughout Canada.
Our members
include leading consumer products brand owners, retailers
and manufacturers who want to ensure that their products
and packaging are managed effectively when they have reached
the end of their useful lives.
When industry is faced with new and emerging
extended producer responsibility (EPR) requirements, CSR works
on behalf of our members to promote and implement stewardship
programs that are fair and equitable for companies that operate
within the affected industry sector.
Product & Packaging Stewardship
Across Canada, product and packaging
stewardship is becoming a permanent, complex and increasingly
expensive business reality. The cost of EPR programs is
rising rapidly and is projected to reach hundreds of millions
of dollars annually for the country as a whole. Through
CSR, members are working to meet their legal obligations
in the most efficient and cost effective manner possible.
CSR is the Principal Contact
CSR works as the principal contact for
members on EPR matters and on their behalf works closely
with municipalities, provincial governments and non-government
organizations (NGOs) to develop effective stewardship
programs. CSR also works in close cooperation with key
trade association partners such as the ones listed below
to keep their members informed on these issues, to establish
common positions where possible and to work cooperatively
on implementing them.
