The interim WDO set an objective to fulfill
a promise to achieve a 50% diversion of waste from disposal.
The goal was to accomplish this through several approaches,
one of which involved funding support for municipalities to
develop and implement programs for improving the efficiency
of curbside recycling, organics and household special wastes.
Over 100 projects were undertaken.The following
archives contain the September 1 Report to the Minister as
well as interim WDO/Municipal reports from "Rounds One,
Two & Three."
